I didn't get to the gym yesterday because I was indisposed (minor but annoying gastrointestinal stuff), so I went today. I realized partway through the workout that while to a first approximation I'm recovered, spending yesterday mostly being unwell, with a few afternoon errands, drained me some. Hence, a shorter workout than usual.
Also, I'm wondering if all this number-recording has me focusing on the numbers rather than on the exercises themselves and how I feel. I may try doing without it for a bit.
Cardio, 21 minutes, top heart rate 137
Vertical chest press, 65 pounds, 12, 5; 55 pounds, 5
Calf machine, 75 pounds, 13, 11; 70 pounds, 11
Leg press, 290 pounds, 2 sets of 12; 270 pounds, 12
Adjustable row, 90 pounds, 2 sets of 15; 70 pounds, 15. Taking it up to 90 was a mistake--I can do it at that weight only by leaning back with my entire torso, rather than sitting more-or-less still and pulling my arms back, which is what I'm supposed to do. Back to 80 next time.
Back arch with physio ball, 3 sets of 17
Tree, 4 sets of {3 on each side}
Hip adduction, 110 pounds, 13, 7
Bicep curl, 20-pound bar, 25, 25, 5--stopped because my left elbow hurt. That also ruled out most of the other things I was considering doing at that point, so I decided it was time for
