Five years ago

I'm idly tagging my earliest LJ entries, and came across--in addition to politics, weather, and an odd bit of time slippage--my unsuccessful attempt to get the gas turned on at the home of roadnotes's Dubious Ex, so that he'd stop showing up on her and volund's doorstep to use their stove, and me wondering about New Year's Eve, back before it was established that I spend that holiday with papersky and her family.

And another couple of months got me to, among other things, my grandmother's death, and how surprised I was by the ways it hit me.
