So of course, after a lengthy discussion on alt.poly that started with someone being irritated at a business-related email from an eBay seller signed "yours in Christ," which led to me and [livejournal.com profile] lilairen discussing businesses that make a point in their advertising of being Christian, I got spam this morning from a company calling itself "Christian loan advice" with a subject line offering me up to four mortgage quotes from Christian something-or-other.

Remind me to call the Pagan Auto School.

I have found that businesses that advertise themselves as Christian are the most cut-throat. This is even more so if they're born-again! I won't deal with a company that advertises their Christianess.

Christian Loan Advice: Usury is a sin.

Though AFAICT, post-Medieval church law has relaxed the definition of "usury" a lot in the interest of being able to engage in commerce.

I get spam from Christian Payday Advance people, which makes me want to send them bible quotes about usury.

Christian-identified businesses reached a new low when I lived in New Orleans and would see the trucks for the "Jesus Is Lord Plumbing Company." I generally try to avoid Christian-identified businesses, although an occasional on with a discreet fish does slip by me from time to time.
