I'll be talking to Jackie next Tuesday. Her email wasn't the most encouraging thing I've seen this year, but I'm trying to be optimistic. However, Tuesay is also the last day of my temporary assignment here. Thus, it seems likely that, even if she decides to hire me, there will be at least some gap.

What would you do with a vacation in New York City in early February, a somewhat frugal attitude, and an unlimited-ride Metrocard?

There's the zoo. There are some lovely parks. There HAVE to be free museums in the city, somewhere.

Also Natural History museum, which is pay what you can afford.

Digital camera? Hie myself to exotic ends of the subway system and take peectures. Walk each block of Some Length Stretch of Manhattan, and write a poem for each block. Borrow my 52? NYC walks (all of which start around a subway stop) deck for inspiration and informational snippets re: neighborhoods.

Come over and help me unpack shit.
