It appears that I have an unusually distinctive telephone voice.

I just called my physical therapist's office, to see if the referral form had come through. I explained what I was calling about, and got "Yes, it has. This is Vicki, right?" before we'd gotten to my name.

My GP's receptionists are the same way, if I call for a referral or to ask about test results.

This is New York City, so it's not a matter of accent.

I would agree. There is something about the pitch and timbre of your voice, particularly as focused through a phone speaker, that is very distinctive and recognizable as yours immediately.
