It's election day in a lot of places in the United States today.

It's easy to ignore an "off-year" election, but if your city or town is electing a local government, that matters.

If you're in New York State, please vote yes on option 2, the transport bond act. (I'm voting for 1, a change to how the state does budgeting, but I'm less sure on that. And the proposed city charter changes are trivial, but seem harmless.)

I'm very torn on the bond act, because I wholeheartedly support public transit, but I hate borrowing money and I really don't trust the MTA to spend it well.

There's still the MTA mismanagement to consider, though. *fret* I don't know. I'll read up on it some more and see what sensible people have to say about it.

Our elections was last Tuesday, due to some arcane reason about our Referendums C and D. Once again, I wished I knew more about our school board, but at least I was happy to be able to vote for Ref C. And it passed, getting rid of some of the worst abuses of our Colorado state income tax limitation amendment.
