- A coworker's daughter recently had gall bladder surgery, and can't wear clothes that press on her stomach at all while she's healing. So I went through my closet and pulled out a couple of dresses that are supported entirely at the shoulders. If they fit her, great, they can use a new home. If not, my coworker will give them back to me.
- On the way to the subway this morning,
cattitude spotted an eagle. It was just riding the thermals, and circled slowly east until it was over Isham Park rather than Inwood Hill Park, probably taking advantage of the heat put off by Seaman Avenue on the way. - My insurance company sent a letter saying that they are, in fact, paying for an MRI some months ago that they were making a fuss about for stupid "we lost track of your paperwork" reasons. Separately, my GP got three more physical therapy sessions approved.

Before responding, I had to go look up which bit of the world you and Isham Park are in - of coudse, it would be a fabulous thing, no matter where you were, but to me it seems doubly wonderful in New York.
Are you familiar with Chrystos's poem about seeing an eagle when she was on a bus? If not, may I quote it to you if I can find it?

The bald eagle isn't quite as surprising as it might be--we're in year 4, I think, of a five-year project to reintroduce bald eagles to Manhattan. But it's every bit as cool as the first one I saw.

On my shelf was Chrystos's Not Vanishing, Fire Power, and Fugitive Colors, along with volumes by Audre Lorde, Adrienne Rich, Rainer Maria Rilke, and assorted others. Further searching turned up, among other things, George Bernard Shaw, Virginia Woolf, Gloria Steinem, Ursula K. LeGuin, This Bridge Called My Back, That's What She Said, Maus I & II,, an anthology of Nebula Award-winning stories from 1970, and my entire collection of Barry Ween comics.
What it did not turn up was Dream On! by Chrystos, which happens to be the book which happens to contain the particular poem I happen to have in mind.
I'll find it eventually. When I do, I'll copy it out for you. We apologize for the inconvenience. Your business is important to us. Click....
