Of course Pope Sidious has diplomatic immunity -- he's considered a head of state. But instead of asking for immunity, perhaps he should be asking forgiveness, both for himself and for the organisation he represents. Obviously I haven't been following the right kind of news. Is this about the Pope's inability to answer "no" to the standard US immigration question "have you ever been a Nazi"?

No. It's a lawsuit about sexual abuse of children by priests, and whether, before he was Pope, he instructed bishops to cover up such abuse. (I hid a link to Lady Sisyphus's post in the emdash, which wasn't a great idea, but I was in a hurry.)
