Following a co-worker's example/advice, I walked over to K-Mart at lunchtime, looking for pants. Of the things they had that might have been my size, most of them failed the pocket test.

I would like to note for the record that corduroy capris seem like a weird idea.

I wound up trying on some Lee's jeans, only to find that while they have pockets, and the hips and waist fit, even the petite is too long for me. Yes, in theory I could shorten them. In reality, I know I wouldn't. Ah, well.

I came back, and bought a roast beef sandwich (with brie and a few other good things) and a brownie in the company cafeteria.

Oxymoron?

I'm an oxymoron. Large petite. :D

I agree about corduroy capris - they seem kind of oxymoronic, too.

Now, stretch jeans - they're a great invention!

I don't understand why it's so hard to get decent pockets in women's clothing. I just don't buy the "it ruins the line" line, especially when we're talking large sizes in loose styles. I'd rather have pockets than "a smooth line" -- bleah!

The problem is, they're cutting jeans nowadays for the assumption that you're going to be wearing at least three-inch heels.

Which means they're at least three inches too long for me. Luckily, I don't take petite of normal cuts, so I can take petite of THESE cuts and it fits just about right.

You poor thing.
