I have been told/reminded that my McGraw-Hill ID will get me and a varying number of guests into a variety of New York museums that otherwise charge admission, sometimes quite high admission. The list includes the Met, MOMA (currently $20/person, otherwise, IIRC), the Guggenheim, and Natural History (less relevant, as [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and I are members.

Suggestions of things to see are welcome, as are offers/requests to accompany me. I haven't looked up evening/weekend hours yet.

I'll be pleased to come visit and go with you sometime, if you like.

If you don't mind toddler company, we'd love to join you at Natural History sometime.

Wow. If you're into medieval art at all, go see the Cloisters.

Enh. I went there, being very much into Mediaeval art, and I was pretty unimpressed. In very large part cos most of it isn't art, it's bits of buildings. Partly, I'm spoilt because I live in a continent where whole Mediaeval buildings in situ are easily accessible. But the impression I got was that most of the actual art is in the Met. Obviously, YMMV.

Interesting. I'm a Medieval Studies major specializing in medieval art, and I love it there. It's a bit of a pilgrimage site (no pun intended) here for medievalists. Of course, you could be right when pointing out the continental differences; I'm sure that does change things quite a bit.

I had to look up YMMV. New one to me. :)
