This is an exercise (for sixth graders) that I came across while proofreading:

Prepare a speech on the topic: Technology is taking over our lives. Use reference books and the Internet to provide facts and examples for your speech.

Sixth grade might be a bit young for that level of irony, but I think it would work very well in high school.
