I now have the appropriate codes and URL to enter my hours electronically; I have told the appropriate people that I'll be in late Monday because of physical therapy; and explicitly confirmed that this job is at the same pay rate as last time. (I know, I should have checked before I accepted.)

I finally got through to someone at the Unemployment Insurance phone line, who said that yes, a temp job counts as having returned to work.
