Being sensible, in this case, involves sitting still as much as possible; not going to my aunt's house for the seder; and calling the doctor tomorrow morning and making the earliest available appointment. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle.

Yes, I was considering going out and doing stuff, despite coughing and shortness of breath. But Cattitude right here, and Adrian on AIM, have pointed out to me that this was not a good idea. I may or may not need antibiotics--that's to ask the doctor--but I am Not Well.

Today's major activity will be proofreading, which I can do sitting quietly and drinking tea.

I'm really glad to hear that.

That is very, very wise. Staying put with nutritious food, plenty of liquids and blankets around has never made any cold-related illnesses worse.

I'm glad you are staying close to home and looking after yourself (and being looked after). The last time I had these symptoms (nasty cough that appeared to subside and then worsened a few days later), I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Get lots of rest, drink plenty of clear liquids, and take care of yourself. Really.

I'm sorry you had to miss the Seder, and the visiting with your relatives that goes with it. (I missed Thanksgiving with my family a couple of years ago under similar circumstances.) But I'm glad you're taking care of yourself, and have [livejournal.com profile] cattitude (and [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger) to help. And tea. Lots of tea.

I'm glad you're resting, but sorry to hear that you missed the seder.

I hope it passes quickly and you feel better very soon.
