If I could figure out what's stressing me, I could probably do something to relieve the problem.

It's oddly specific: when I walk into the kitchen, my throat tightens. This is the third evening in a row that I've had this problem. Daytime seems to be all right.

Considering your sensitivity to flashing lights, you might be having a subtle reaction to flicker. This happens to me all the [obscenity] time. Check windows, too.

I'd third the suggestion to check the lights, particularly if it only happens after dark. Also is there any annoying light source outside your kitchen window?
