On a related note, I'm currently sitting back in amusement and watching things like this (http://www.livejournal.com/support/see_request.bml?id=438332) come in over at Support. I find it even more amusing that the admins apparently have their own canned for dealing with these, which is of course completely backfiring on them.
Personally, I think I'd be amused by the notion that Charles Stross has become posthuman (http://locusmag.com/2005/Features/0401_Stross.html) on any day of the year. In fact, my immediate reaction on reading this was oh, it explains a lot, how do they know it's happened now rather than, say, last November?
And Charlie seemed to take it in good humor, too, complaining on his blog that he was finding life very cramped inside the Palm, and did anyone have a spare 1-gig card he could borrow?
Yes. There are some good ones, that traditionally are published on April 1--and, like the Scientific American joke editorial, are funny if you run into them on another day.

Every technical mailing list I'm on has had a couple-three attempted jokes and none of them were funny. Grmbl.
