I don't recall meeting you, though we may have been in the same room at the same time (Diesel, Open Parlor Night, or Arisia), and we I've only lived in this area for a few years, so I don't feel that it's *never* too cold for ice cream...but my sense of appropriate ice cream weather runs quite a bit colder than it used to when I lived in the midwest. My relatives in Michigan think +10C might be "too cold for ice cream," but I start thinking that might be a concern around -10C. And it's Boston, not Buffalo, so we have a lot of winter days warmer than that.
Today, even with the blowing snow sticking to the ice cream (Redbird and I took our cones from J.P.Licks and ate them while waiting for the bus), it was barely below freezing, and not really too cold. And there's something very cozy and pleasant about enjoying good ice cream with such good company.
One of my first dates with Elaine involved buying ice cream cones and eating them while I walked her home in a blizzard. She put up with it then, but I'm not sure I could convince her to do it anymore. I maintain (and she thinks I'm full of it) that eating ice cream on a cold day lowers your internal temperature, thereby making it feel less cold (conversely, drinking coffee or tea on a hot day raises your internal temperature making you feel less hot).
The calories in ice cream do, but the same number of calories in something your body doesn't have to heat to body temperature will warm you more efficiently.
Nonetheless, it was fun eating ice cream in the snow with Adrian.

Re: *bounce*
and indeed, it is never too cold for ice cream under normal circumstances. :)
