I'm sure it's a fine kindergarten workbook, but it leaves me with the strong impulse to throw the whole thing away and have the children spend the year coloring on blank sheets of paper, playing with blocks, and being read to instead.

Like every other new mother in Reading, Berkshire, England, at my baby's 8-month health and development checkup I received 2 infant books, a sturdy fabric carrier bag / tote bag, and full information on how to join the local library, what's available there, and why it's fun and good to read to your baby.

Can they have stacking rings as well as blocks? Stacking rings are good. So are those straws that you stick together, you know, with plastic wheely spokey things. I had them my first year at school. They were excellent. And a big roll of wallpaper taped to the floor wrong side up for fingerpainting on! Yeah!

Gosh, we did good stuff when I was little.

I heartily applaud your pedagogic approach. What a pity you are not in charge of such things!
