Unfortunate job title of the week

According to this morning's paper, the US Treasury Department has an "Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Funding."

I'm fairly sure this person's job involves tracking money being used to pay for things the U.S. government doesn't approve of, but that's not what it sounds like.

I wouldn't be so sure. The US supported the Taliban, once upon a time. How is our government planning for the long term?
