redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

In writing a comment to [livejournal.com profile] baldanders, I realized that while I'm physically recovered from the Commute from Hell (or as recovered as I'm ever going to be, and I think that's back to where I was a year ago, i.e., pre-Commute from Hell), I still haven't put my life entirely back together.

Some of that is circumstances beyond my control (and possibly beyond even Alan Greenspan's), but not all of it.

If you aren't [livejournal.com profile] cattitude, [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes, [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel, [livejournal.com profile] papersky, [livejournal.com profile] zorinth, or [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger, there's a fair chance I've been neglecting you. I'm going to try to do better, but it's too easy to not remember to call people just because I haven't talked to/seen them in a while, so feel free to nudge me. I won't take kindly to being called a horrible person, but postcards, email, or phone calls that say "I haven't seen you in a year, let's do something about that" would not be a bad idea.

I can't imagine you being a horrible person. Just not goin' thru my parser, nope nope nope. No risk of that *here*.

I've been pretty rotten at staying in touch with folks over the past 4 years (not that I was all that stellar about it before, either). Sometimes one just doesn't have the energy to reach out much.

Keep putting your life together. When I next get to NYC or you next get here, we'll find some time for at least a meal or tea.

I think of you and cattitude (and your families-of-choice) far more than my actions indicate.

Skritchies to the cats -- the big purple one and the stripey orange one -- and hugs to the hobbit...
