Not only can I do this, but I caught myself thinking "Anyone can do this." By which I meant that it was sufficiently general-knowledge editing that I didn't need specific background. And that, in turn, is partly that history, especially US history, and geography are topics I know well enough to forget that many people don't.

The commute is perfectly acceptable; the company cafeteria makes a decent sandwich (roast beef, pesto, and brie is a very good combination); I've put a proper mug and some tea bags into my shoulder bag to take to work with me.

That sounds very promising, especially the roast beef pesto and brie!

One of the weird things about aging is that I keep catching myself thinking 'but this is something that everyone knows' despite the fact that clearly, (a) everybody doesn't know {the particular stuff}, and (b) knowing {the particular stuff} is one of my key skills. Not just fact-based stuff, either; a lot of {the particular stuff} is things like the way organisations work, the way meetings work, the way stuff gets done.
