I have got to actually look at usernames or icons, not just the colors I've assigned my friends. I just answered a poll of [livejournal.com profile] stealthpup's, a perfectly straightforward thing--but I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] yonmei's journal, because I've given them the same color on my friends list.

How do you use colours? I have at least three competing schemes and so the use of colours in our journal is not all that useful. I'm interested in how other people do this.

Those (their journal colours, or what suits them) are two of the schemes I use too. Your journal name is in red on our Friends page, for instance. I have done an extremely half-assed job of giving similar colour schemes to groups of people who are friends with each other.

I find it disconcerting to read someone else's Friends page and see a journal I read displayed in different colours than I use, too. Maybe we should all make a statement about what colours we'd like our journal displayed in?

Yeah, I've definitely gotten startled out of my assumptions that way a few times.

I started giving people different colors (yours is a redbird red) but ran out of colors and switched to a page layout that puts the username on top.

Of course then I had to go to [livejournal.com profile] stealthpup's journal and see if I could see why you think of us as the same colour...

(I couldn't. But I did answer his poll.)

You're coded red and purple for me. Combination of handle and hair. :}
