I am absolutely delighted to be the kind of person who has to do Web research to find out when her anniversary is. (Though in the end, it came down to connecting thoughts and just digging out the calendar for October 1984, which I could look up without much trouble.)

The answer turned out to be what I'd thought it was, but [livejournal.com profile] cattitude wasn't sure of the date. The events, yes, that we both remembered. But not tightly bound to the calendar.

J and I aren't serious about our official wedding anniversary, either. This year we both sort of forgot, then sort of remembered, then sort of forgot. It's just not a big deal to either of us.

For some reason neither of us can remember if our wedding day was Oct 20 or Oct 21. I could find out easily by googling for great Oakland fire though. Because we got married the day that started all the way back in 1991.

I have the same problem: was it June 12 or June 13? Fortunately [livejournal.com profile] sturgeonslawyer gave us a picture frame engraved with the date of the wedding, so that's a handy reference. We keep it within reach on the mantle with a wedding picture in it.

Happy anniversary!

We've just passed the 17th anniversary of our meeting - I met D & G, who were already friends, on Sun 4 Oct 1987 just after 19:00 ... and I know it was the first Sunday in October, but I have to check what the date of that was :-)

oh yeah, same here. i have to go through gas records to pin it down to the actual weekend that started it all (since i was driving to denver then). and i am also pleased that this doesn't matter to me and mine.

happy ongoing relationship! :)

I can't remember dates at all.

One anniversary is easy because it falls on Xmas day. But I can never remember when his birthday is. The other is on Dec 1, but I always have to think about it for a while first. But I can remember her birthday because it's the day before Rememberance Day.

I come by it quite honestly. My father remembers his anniversary by the fact that it's Pearl Harbour Day, but even he only gets it right about 50% of the time.
