Julian has managed, after (I infer) great effort over a period of a couple of weeks, to turn his new food bowl over.

The result of this was that he couldn't get at any of the food, since he inverted the bowl completely with the food under it.

He looked puzzled. I took pity on him (after briefly regretting that the digital camera is away, with [livejournal.com profile] cattitude--it's his camera, after all), picked the bowl up, set it on the floor in the proper position (concave side up), and put some of the food back into it. (He gets dry kibble, plus whatever he can beg from us, and the right to lick bowls containing chocolate-free dairy products.)

I predict he will do this again: he seems to be convinced that food on the floor is tastier than food in a bowl, or in a person's hand.

Heh ... Balor hasn't managed to do that, yet, but he did knock a large vase off the table so that it fell onto his water bowl, smashing both the vase and the bowl.

He also would much rather drink from someone's glass, a watering can, a sink, etc. than his water bowl.

My can Louisa has decided that she prefers drinking her water from a cup as I'm pouring it into her metal water bowl (we have a large plastic one for when we're away for more than a couple of days, but the plastic makes her get black zits on her chin). I'm planning on getting one of those flowing water fountains for cats that range in price from about $30.00 to $50.00 dollars. I hope that will make her happy.

I used to have a cat who liked to wet his foot before he ate it. Before eating a piece of kibble, he would scoop up a piece of cat food with his paw, drop it in his water dish, and then scoop it out of the water dish with his paw. It was very cute to watch.
