Yes, I have paper and pen beside my bed. I also have a clear memory that, as I was going to sleep last night, I thought of something that I wanted to post on the Making Light "open thread."

That's all I remember. Since "open thread" is "talk about anything", it provides no context or hints for me to try to track the idea down.

It's entirely possible--based on some of what I have found on that notepad in the mornings--that it wasn't interesting or important. But it's also possible that it was.

I find these notes to myself lying about that made perfect sense when I wrote them, but no sense when I check them. I fear I am like Dorrie in Finding Nemo.

Oh, oh, ooh, there's a perfect Nemi strip about that, but Nemi is a Norwegian comic and not officially translated to English.

Anyway, she gets the same advice, then wakes up and knows what it's all about...

The morning after, she reads what she wrote. "Bell pepper."
