Half my life I was always the youngest -- what happens when you skip multiple grades in an otherwise rigidly-age-segregated system -- and proud of it. Then one week I went from a party where I was the youngest to a party where I was the oldest, and that was the end of that. However, for the last 20 years the online world has always seemed to me to have a big statistical bump of people right around my age (which is life, the universe and everything age, at least for a few more days), though I could just be imagining that.
I've had purple hair since 1995 -- a few times a year a stranger walks up to me with a remark like "so did you do that for <insert nearby holiday>?" and it kind of throws me for a second what they might be referring to.
