Another friend lost

I just heard from bohemiancoast (in anonymousclaire) that KIM Campbell has died. She had cancer, and was in a hospice: the news shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did.

I never got to know KIM well: but at the Leeds Corflu, when I was planning to travel around a bit and wanted to go spend a bit of time in York with Pam Wells (who was living in a one-room student flat), KIM came across the bar to greet me with "Of course you can stay with me" while I was trying to get up my courage to ask a complete stranger for crash space. She was good company for dinner and the evening, as well as a friendly host.
