I dressed up and went to my job interview, which consisted mostly of the interviewer telling me about the agency, the work involved, and city hiring practices. Rather than ask about my skills, he told me more than once that it was obvious from my resume that I'm qualified. *blink* Okay, good, then I don't have to answer questions and reveal that I don't recognize some of the TLAs he's using. We agreed that we don't like Microsoft but you have to work with their stuff sometimes. By the end of the hour, he was telling me about being in front of the Board of Estimate at 1 in the morning, to get funding for something.

He said he got about 90 resumes, and is doing a handful of interviews, which should all be done this week. Assuming they offer me this--and it sounded as though he was mostly trying to convince me that I wanted the job, and sounding me out about working in the borough offices (Queens or Staten Island would involve a lengthy commute, but not an impractical one)--they're going to try to make an offer by the end of this month and have the person on board in mid-November. There are four positions open.

Then I went and had lunch with L., who had told me about this opening; stopped off at a mini-Greenmarket for late Italian plums and Gala apples, came home and got out of the suit.
