redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

It's not a great photo, but it'll do for the moment, for any readers who haven't met me (all two of you).

Think about your metaphors! (That's a grumble about work: when someone says that "there are ideas presented that could be part of a grist mill of requirements engineering," he clearly didn't think about the meaning, which leaves Yr. Ed. with a harder task than it should be.)

Having tired of pouring boiling water over my hand while making tea, this morning I reached into a mug of hot tea to pull the teabag out. No harm done, I think, but not a brilliant move. (The problem with PG Tips, from this viewpoint, is that they don't have little strings attached that can dangle outside the cup. It's good tea, though.)

It's too hot, but you knew that. Or are reading this six months later, and can't begin to imagine what a heat index of 105 felt like.

Ma chere Redbird, you are virtually unrecognisable in your photo. Therefore I urge you to find one more representational of the beautiful face and hair which you possess, and which also conveys your delightful personality. The current photo seems to be of a hat and some sunglasses.

I have a very nice photo of you if you want it. Remember Baltimore 1998?
