job hunt: waiting

I spoke to Jennifer about that proofreading job. The client told her that she'd hear from them this afternoon; she'll call me when she does, or I'm to check in tomorrow if I haven't heard from her before then.

I also just sent off a resume for a helpdesk job with the city government; this is hiding under "administrative assistant", that apparently being a job of about the right pay range that the department is authorized to hire for. This being the city, I may hear from them next year. No, it's not really what I want to do with my life, but the pay would be decent, and I actually have a plausible tech support resume, consisting of LJ support and a carefully selected subset of what I did at ACM.

Good luck with the job hunt. It's hard to decide among possibilities, none of which are quite right, when hoping that a real fit is out there somewhere.
