I am reminded of the Doonesbury take on the 1988 election, when George HW Bush went back to Yale for a Skull & Bones reunion, to tell his old classmates he was running for president and ask for fundraising help. Nobody had ever heard of him, or knew anything about him, so it was a tough ask. Then one of his frat brothers said, "Who are you running against?" and he answered "A Harvard boutique liberal," and they all threw in money as fast as they could.
