Cattitude, Adrian, and I are going to be in London for a week, starting Monday July 14th. This trip is partly so my brother and I can sort out my mother's things, including photos and papers, but we should have some free time to see people and/or do tourist things.

We'd like to get together with people. I realize this is somewhat last-minute as well as vague, since we don't know how much time we'll have available.

I have visited London several times, but that trip to see my mother in April was Adrian's first visit to England; Cattitude was three with me for a week in 2001.

We mask indoors, but it's July, so we're hoping for restaurants with outdoor seating.

I'll be in London that Thursday for work, would be happy to meet you guys for dinner afterward or something?

My calendar next week is a bit unwontedly full, but I could maybe manage an hour or two Thursday afternoon or evening.

It's been a long time since we met, but if you'd like to do it again I could do Friday! My most convenient train from Cambridge gets in around 11:30 but I could make it earlier or later depending on the shape of your day. The Long Covid is much less limiting these days and I've had several successful trips in.

It is a very long time since we met in person. I could do something Tuesday or Friday afternoon, and would like to.

What kind of tourism would you want to do? I'm going with a friend to see the Pirates exhibition at Greenwich on Friday morning and you could join us if that was the kind of thing you might enjoy, though getting there may be a barrier depending on where you are staying.

If you can give me some idea of where you are based and how far you think it's reasonable to walk I might be able to suggest some outdoor eating spaces. There are usually cafes in parks, and there are a lot of outdoor tables along the South Bank.

Ah. Sorry - not a bit of London I know well at all. Best wishes for your travel and safe arrival.

Finchley Central puts you on the Northern Line into central London - about 30 minutes to, say, Waterloo. Most practical might be to meet somewhere central along that line around midday. I'll think about outdoor eating and attractions along that line.

I notice bugshaw can come on Friday - a mutual friend.

I'll text you on WhatsApp.
