I was grumbling yesterday about using the flutter valve twice a day, because I don't like coughing, and Adrian expressed sympathy and then told me that, now that I'm using the thing, I am breathing better when I'm not coughing, which is most of the time.
I also know that I would be coughing some even without the mucinex and flutter valve, but not as much; the main difference is that those would be drier coughs, and wouldn't clear as much phlegm out of my lungs.
I'm thinking of skipping the morning round of mucinex, inhaler, and flutter valve on days when I expect to be out and about a lot, especially if I'm going to be spending a lot of time masked. The day I saw my new neurologist, I skipped the whole process in the morning, and then used just the inhaler around lunchtime because I was coughing enough that I found it annoying.
