called a new vet

I called a vet on Beacon Street in Brookline and made an appointment to take both our cats in for a checkup and to get their vaccines. We picked it because it appears to be the closest vet to our new home.

The receptionist offered me appointments as soon as next week, but cattitude wants to move the annual vet visits out of winter, which makes sense to me as well. This has been a remarkably mild winter, with very little snow, but that's not the way to bet. So, March 15th, 3 p.m.

I told the receptionist that we'd been taking them to the Somerville Veterinary Center on Highland Ave., and she said they are part of a network, which will make it easy for them to get Molly and Kaja's medical records.

When we moved to our new house, I was very relieved when I transitioned our pets to our vet who is about five minutes away.

We were taking the cats to the vet in Somerville after we moved to Belmont and it was a bit less convenient, from a combination of inertia and there not being a vet enough closer to be worth making the change.

Now, I'm pretty sure Brighton is further from our old vet's office than our place in Belmont was, in both miles and any relevant form of transport (crow's flight and bicycle not being relevant here). At least as important, adrian_turtle saw a vet's office while walking around our new neighborhood last summer, and checked that they treat cats as well as dogs.
