After today's session with the occupational therapist, I have three range-of-motion exercises for my right hand. I'm supposed to do each of them 5-10 repetitions at a time, 3-5 times a day. They aren't tiring, but they do take some time, even though the only "equipment" I need is a table or desk to support my hand during the new exercises.
That's on top of the various exercises that I try to do regularly, based on past physical therapy for (at different times) my right shoulder, left hip, and left knee. I keep a chart of which exercises I've done when, so I don't accidentally skip something for a month, or do the same PT-ish exercise on consecutive days.
Not doing the same thing on consecutive days is fairly common advice, as well as something that Emilie, the personal trainer I was working with in New York, told me.
That doesn't apply to the OT stuff, though whenever she starts me on strengthening exercises, I will ask about it.
