Today's mail included a polite "no, thank you" from the person at Wiley who interviewed me a couple of weeks back. I hadn't had high hopes left, but it's still a disappointment.

Fortunately, I had a fine afternoon at the Central Park Zoo with Barb (WINOLJ), who called us this morning to suggest an outing, [livejournal.com profile] treadpath, and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude. We didn't see the red pandas, but there were lots of big turtles, and the penguins were fine and clever and extremely well air conditioned.

Then I went to the gym to lift weights, while they went off for a drink and further socializing.

Cardio, 16 minutes, top heart rate 150

Assisted chin-up, assist at 19, 8, 3 (maybe take assist back to 20 next time?)
Calf machine, 30 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Adjustable row, 100 pounds, 3 sets of 15--had to push to get through the last few reps on the third set

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Back arches, 3 sets of 16
Cat-and-camel stretch
Tree, 3 sets of {2 on each leg}

Expressline stuff:
Seated leg press, 230 pounds, 13 reps
Leg extension, 40 pounds, 12 reps
Leg curl, 80 pounds, 13
Lat pulldown, 70 pounds, 12
Shoulder press, 25 pounds, 12
Chest press, 45 pounds, 12
Bicep curl, 30 pounds, 11
Tricep curl, 30 pounds, 12
(Oddly, a couple of those are lower than I had done--either I copied the numbers wrong, or there's something peculiar here.)

Stretches

Sorry to hear about the job -- you would probably have been a very good fit. Nice that they bothered to send a no thank you letter -- some places don't get around to telling the folks they don't hire.
