[[livejournal.com profile] elisem, you may want to pass this on to Mike.]

I'm reading an odd fantasy novel set in a vaguely parallel Wars of the Roses, with excursions to the viewpoint of a modern scholar in our world who is getting glimpses of it and has no idea of what's going on. Backstory of Warwick and Anne Neville and Elizabeth Woodville and all those people, and I kept muttering "the pantry is full of Woodvilles." To this, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude kept offering variants on "where?" (we don't have an actual pantry), and then decided that the cart/worksurface/storage unit he trashpicked a couple of days ago and repaired is named Woodville.

Apropos of nothing, I've been meaning to ask- did you get your name from those MTA "redbird" trains?u

Did you see something nasty in the Woodville(s), then?

Does it have silver-gilt hair? And haven't you got an Eleanor Butler's pantry?

Sorry, I could not resist. I'll be good now.

Second the question - I played the younger son of a nobleman (my father ended up as Chancellor of England) in a War of the Roses w/ Magic campaign at one time. Much fun was had by all.

Ah, memories - 'May we see your license to crenelate?', Danish Cavalry, a year's collection of fortune cookies.
