I just went for my first maskless walk in over a year, stopping to sniff lilacs, and crossing the street repeatedly to avoid passing masked strangers unnecessarily. (I'm fully vaccinated,
cattitude has had one dose, and a stranger won't know either of these things.)
It's been a long fourteen months, and it's not over yet, but I am personally pleased that they decided being outside without masks was safe in time for lilac season. The requirements for masks outdoors ended, here, as offourteen hours ago.
We both had masks in our pockets, just in case; I expect to be carrying a mask, when not wearing one, for months if not forever.

In an interior space is about as much as I can manage and even then, I struggle. :o(

Do shops near you tend to require masks? They do near me, which I find more reassuring than irritating, since kids can't be vaccinated yet (I'm more worried about them, including mine, than about myself).

Not only can kids not be vaccinated yet, but there are still a significant number of people waiting for the vaccine, or waiting for their second dose. We have reassuringly high vaccine uptake here, which does mean that we haven't reached the stage of having people just walk in and being able to count on getting the vaccine.
Masks are also still required on public transit, which will be the main context in which I have to be masked, from now on. And medical, but none of my medical providers except the pharmacy are in walking distance, so I'll be putting on a mask, taking the bus (or possibly subway or Lyft), doing the medical stuff, and masking again for the bus trip home. Though being able to take a break and just sit in Davis Square or Watertown Square without a mask before getting on the T or bus will be nice.

Glad masks are still required on transit, and agreed, no-mask breaks are pleasant.
