tl;dr: it looks like things will be all right

I apparently neglected to post about this back in June, so: I got a call yesterday with the good news that Scraps (aka Soren de Selby aka Tom Weber Jr) has been released from the hospital and moved into a group home in Lynwood, near enough to his parents' home that they can visit.

Scraps was hospitalized in June. I don't think he actually needed three months' of inpatient care. Rather, it was decided (I don't know by whom, possibly some combination of him, his doctors, and his family of origin) that he shouldn't go back to the place in Everett where he'd been living with his friend Victor. That had stopped working, to the extent that it ever worked well--they were living hours outside Seattle by bus, and thus far from Scraps' family or other friends, and I gather that Victor became less able to give Scraps emotional support.) So, part of what they were doing with the time, along with medical help, was arranging somewhere else for him to live.

[personal profile] coyotegoth and other friends of Scraps, please spread the word as seems appropriate that he is doing okay, and living in Lynwood.

This is good to hear. I was thinking about AWA the other day, and then of V, and then of S.

Oh good: that is, better news and not worse news. Hoping that the new situation works well for Scraps.
