* Cinnamon toast made with seeded rye bread is at least as good as when made with white bread. I tried this on a whim: the bread was already in the toaster when I remembered I have a jar of cinnamon sugar.

I have a jar of cinnamon sugar because, sometime in the last few years, Penzey's was giving it away free with purchase, and I needed enough other things to qualify. I wouldn't buy cinnamon sugar--you're paying for convenience, because sugar is a lot cheaper than cinnamon--but it's convenient, and I left the shaker lid on because I'm only ever going to sprinkle it on things, not want to measure or use a lot at a time.

* [personal profile] cattitude made potato leek soup for supper tonight, and it was very good. There's enough left for another meal, so that's supper either tomorrow or Wednesday depending on whether we want to cook tomorrow.

I once made some french toast with garlic bread made by Jack. We ate it with real maple syrup and it was astonishingly good.
