I didn't go up to Pleasantville yesterday, but accepted Kevin's offer of a ride this morning. This got me there in time to read everything in its typeset form for this issue, though only the editorial in manuscript; to chat with people and nosh on nuts, flautas, and such; and to do a bit of really random gardening. I wandered out into the yard, and noticed that one of the flagstones had been overgrown--or, rather, noticed that there seemed to be a flagstone under that bit of yard. I checked with David, then pulled the mats of grass, plantain, moss, and such off the flagstones. Then I had a thought, and asked for a plastic bag: the turves, weeds where they were, have been offered a new home around a street tree on West 218th Street, where I hope they will settle in and spread.
Other than that, my foot is better but not 100 percent well yet, and the opposite knee is tender. Current thought is to do job-hunting stuff tomorrow morning, and go to the gym either in the afternoon or on Tuesday.
Unrelated matter: does anyone reading this know what information Amazon.com demands from people who post reviews, or what they do with said information?

It's been a while since I did this, but I think they require you to have a userid and a password. I believe it's possible to lie in order to get said userid and password. And I know reviews can be listed anonymously.
