hair color

I ordered a sample/travel size of a purple color from Overtone, and tried using it on most of my hair, and the red I got ages ago on part. I didn't get a two-color effect--that probably requires more effort to separate the hair, with clips or similar, but I have a nice purple, a bit more to the purple end of the spectrum than the purple I get using their blue color.

I have just ordered more of both the purple and the blue coloring conditioner, plus the purple "daily conditioner" to maintain the color. I am rushing a little, because I have no idea how long they'll be open, given current circumstances.

I have previously been distinguishing silveradept and azurelunatic (when I don't want to use their actual handles, let alone names) as Tol Housemate and Blu Housemate, except they were messing with bleach and dye the other day and, where Azz's hair is still mostly black as usual, Silver's is now entirely blue. in unrelated news, Silver did most of the work on replacing a ceiling light fixture, and starting right about the point where they were complaining about it being a three- or five-handed job and I dragged over a chair to stand on to help, we started in on the jokes about being shorthanded.

I've tried both the blue and purple at separate times. I have graying mid-brown hair. On my hair, the purple was more on the reddish side, and I didn't like it as much as the blue. I liked the blue a lot. Both were the intense shades. I haven't tried their for-brunette colors yet.

I'd love to have at least a purple or blue streak in my (quite prettily by now) grey hair but Spouse is against it, and he's the one who has to look at it.

I thought I wanted blue, and having tried it went back to purple.

The overtone "teal" comes out blue on my hair; mixing their blue and teal gives me a sort of bluish purple that I suspect is what people mean by "indigo" as a color.
