I hate writing cover letters.

I can cope with tailoring the resume--rearrange items here, drop something there (it's a copyeditor/proofreader job, so put "proofreader" in the summary and take out the freelance writing bits), note a skill that I don't normally even think about, sure.

I think my problem with cover letters is it's a weird sort of impersonal boasting. When it's to a blind ad--so I can't even do "Dear Ms/Mr So-and-so" or know anything about the employer--it's worse. Which is why I didn't send it out yesterday.

Well, that plus assorted aches and pains (as detailed yesterday, plus menstrual cramps).

I got it out this morning partly because I want a chance that it will be looked at this week rather than next.

Meanwhile, my hip is sore again, and my poor arthritic old cat has a limp. Grump.

Memo to self: Chocolate does not constitute lunch!

It doesn't? Why not? I was thinking about having chocolate for lunch today.

"Memo to self: Chocolate does not constitute lunch!"

I once put together an entire chocolate menu. Chicken mole was the main course, of course.

Cramps suck.

But chocolate for dessert is always good.

Good luck with the resume!

Well *sometimes* a chocolate lunch might be just the thing one needs to really hit the spot.

Good luck with the job and with a speedy bouncing back from the aches and pains.
