Yesterday was just one of those days. I banged my knee on the fencing around [livejournal.com profile] porcinea's rabbit cage, and have acquired a large and ugly bruise as a result. I went to the gym, and gave up after 11 minutes of cardio (on a machine whose heart rate readout was obviously unreliable--jumping from 65 to 120 with no gaps is not the way the human body works; a set and a half of bench presses; and about a dozen crunches.

Then we went to [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes's mother's funeral, which went as well as such things ever do: Roadnotes, her sister, and her niece all spoke well, there was good music, and they even fed us afterwards. (One thing about funerals is that if you're looking down and obviously not cheerful during the service, random people don't feel the need to tell you to smile or ask what's wrong.) A group of us then went down to Rose's Turn, where we sang and drank and explained that we weren't a birthday party, but a wake. I had fun, but going out instead of home may have been a mistake: I had trouble falling asleep because my throat hurt. Better today, but I start to wonder about the prudence of going out singing tomorrow night.

Today's agenda is to feed and water the animals, make another attempt at the gym (my own branch this time), and maybe buy more flowers. All this while not falling over, since it's suddenly summer, bright and hot and humid.
