We checked the front yard this afternoon, and there are some crocus shoots (from the bulbs we planted) and at least one daffodil shoot (planted before we got here).

There was snow yesterday, and there will be a lot of snow tomorrow, but there are also these first signs of spring.

And, weirdly, a small surviving leaf or two from one of my fall lettuces.

It is weird but spring is mixing with winter this year. Like I have seen a couple of bees although we are in February and one day it is cold, next day it is warm. So puzzled.

I have seen snowdrops blooming in Cambridge, MA last week, and 4 inch tall daffodil sprouts (in a very sheltered spot near a south facing brick wall) in a northern suburb of the Twin Cities.
