I haven't been getting to many restaurants in the last couple of years, and some of my old reliable places have closed. I am looking for recommendations for not-too-expensive Chinese food, with vegetarian options and non-spicy options, for an early dinner Saturday. [livejournal.com profile] livredor and I will be going to a concert in Times Square, and coming from Inwood and/or Riverdale, so the West Side or West Village are better than the east side. (The current mental fallback is my usual Excellent Dumpling, which is handy to the N/Q and reasonably handy to the R (and to other, irrelevant trains), but variety is good.

Answer on LJ or DW as suits you.

Just a couple of days ago I had a fantastic cheap lunch at Buddha Bodai. Probably not too convenient for you -- it's in the heart of Chinatown on Mott -- and they're completely vegetarian, but they're geniuses with fake meats and you can stuff yourself for $10 a person.
