One of the teas I picked up in Montreal is mulberry-scented ("mure sauvage", but I'm not at all convinced there's a significant difference between wild and domestic mulberry). I'd been happily drinking the orange and the jasmine dragon (green), and ignoring the mulberry.
I just made a cup of the mulberry. My verdict is "eh". It's tea, the mulberry is nothing special. It might work better black, but I prefer my black teas with milk and sugar.

To put this another way: it's better when it's fresh, but once it isn't fresh, it keeps on being "just fine" for a long time.
Japanese teas in particular seem to last very well. I've had Sencha last two years, but that was when I bought a lot and then forgot I had it.
Mmm, Sencha, I think I'll put the kettle on.
