I have a large Obama campaign button on my jacket, and once in a while it starts conversations. Friendly ones: semi-random strangers who are waiting for a bus or selling me a half gallon of milk saying "Obama" in a supportive tone, say, or someone wondering if it will make a difference (I told her I hope so). Half an hour ago, the person who reacted to it said, after a bit of chat, "Wednesday, right?" So I explained that no, he has to go vote tomorrow, not Wednesday. Then he asked when we'd have the results, and I told him tomorrow night if it's a big win, maybe very late if we have to wait for the West Coast (yes, California, Oregon, and Washington are sure things, but officially the polls there don't close until fairly late NY time).

It's possible, from the way he was asking, that he hasn't been here long enough to be a citizen and voting, but he might be registered but not normally pay attention. I may have gotten one more Obama voter to the polls, or maybe he'll remind someone he knows to vote tomorrow.
