Quote of the day:

"I don't want your revolution if there's no science fiction at the other end." --China Miéville, in his Guest of Honor speech

After Carol Emshwiller's speech, which was mostly autobiography, and China's, which was literature and politics, John Kessel was given the Tiptree Award. I wound up on stage as part of the chorus serenading him (this comes after the tiara and the certificate and the art and the check and the chocolate), because Michael Levy, one of my fellow jurors for the upcoming Tiptree, was behind me and seemed sure that we belonged there.

May list 27: Sometimes I sing in a group and enjoy myself. [livejournal.com profile] elisem told me right after that it was a good song, which I agreed with--Ellen Klages wrote the lyrics, and a couple of dozen of us sang.

Whimper

Oh, I so wanted to meet China Mieville!

I hope all y'all had a great time. Checking for more complete WisCon reports as I type.

Though it was a fine, fine song, I decided not to sing until next year.
