I'm feeling remarkably organized: meals planned in advance, with small groups. I had lunch yesterday with
brisingamen and PK, and dinner with
maryread, both good chances for conversation.
At the Gathering yesterday--basically a sort of fundraising fair for Broad Universe--Delia asked me to try something on, and it was all blue and purple and cheerful. So I accepted it, and treated it as a dress instead of a tunic last night. (I think the last time I'd worn a dress was the Hugos at Millenium Philcon, and that mostly because I had it left from
rysmiel and
papersky's wedding.) It went well with my leg tattoo, too.
The panel on "American Politics as Science Fiction" went okay; I got to play historian (about the falls of the Roman and Spanish empires) as well as referring to sf, fantasy, and contemporary politics.
The Farmer's Market was good, as always. It's a beautiful day, so I sat on a bench near the capitol and ate a chocolate croissant, drank apple cider, and then called
cattitude while looking at the lake in the distance. I have lilacs and an iris in my room.
Ursula Le Guin was signing a little while ago. I got her to sign the copy of The Other Wind that I had brought with me as rereading/panel prep, and then took a moment to tell her how much I enjoyed Changing Planes, and that Cattitude said it was the most science fictional thing he's read in years.
