After half a day of work (summer hours, I think this is the last week of them, since next Friday the place is closed), I got some dim sum, then went up to the gym. I figured travel time, including the walk back to the train, would let me digest my lunch before exercising; this may have been over-optimistic.
It was a short workout, because the second or third time I caught myself thinking "For best results, avoid doing stupid things" I decided it was time to stretch and shower, not just go do a different exercise than I'd had in mind.
Cardio, 18:30, top heart rate 151. I stopped at that point, without cooldown, rather than doing the programmed 20+2 minutes, because my left knee suddenly hurt. That was the first "for best results," and at that point going to do some upper-body weight work really did seem sensible.
Chest press, 65 pounds, 12, 10
Biceps curls, 12.5 pounds each hand, 20; 10 pounds each, 20
Slanted calf raise, 60 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Balance ~fly, 55 pounds, 2 sets of 15
I then made my second approach to the leg press, got as far as deciding to do a lower weight and fold my legs further, and putting on 90 pounds, when I thought "for best results" again. I walked away from the machine and over to the stretch device I use. No, no mat work, no yoga, nothing, just stretch, shower, and head for home.
